Plano estate planning, probate, guardianship and special needs planning firm is looking for an experienced legal assistant.  This is an ideal opportunity for the unique person who possesses both top notch legal skills and the ability to provide caring, compassionate service to our clients.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish a professional, warm and welcoming environment for new and existing clients
  • Answer potential client inquiries by phone and email
  • Perform initial client intake
  • Schedule client appointments and court hearings
  • Manage potential client and client workflow using the firm’s CRM and case management applications
  • Draft estate planning documents, deeds, and probate and guardianship pleadings under the supervision and review of firm attorneys, using firm document assembly applications
  • Calendar and track deadlines
  • File pleadings and deeds electronically
  • Organize and manage workflow for each case
  • Assemble estate planning portfolios and prepare beneficiary designation change forms
  • Improve firm processes for efficiency
  • Assist with business development activities through preparation of e-newsletters
  • Perform general office and administrative duties

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of office experience required (law firm experience preferred)
  • A bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Pro
  • Experience with Clio and document assembly programs a plus
  • Ability to quickly master case management and document assembly programs
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to create accurate, professional documents in a timely manner
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Discretion to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to create long-lasting relationships between our firm and our clients
  • Understand and comply with ethical rules
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a cooperative, positive manner with other staff, attorneys and clients

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position that requires the paralegal to be in the office 8:30-5:00, with lunch breaks, 5 days a week.
