Tresi Moore Weeks is an attorney and founder of The Weeks Law Firm, PLLC in Plano, Texas, where she assists clients with estate planning, special needs planning, special needs trusts, probate and guardianship.  After 11 years as a trial attorney, she opened her own estate planning law firm 17 years ago.  As an advocate for her own child’s special needs, she is passionate about helping families with loved ones with special needs.

Tresi serves as President of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Collin County Bar Association.  She serves on the Board of Directors of Disability Rights Texas, and as Chair of the Mental Illness Advisory Council for Disability Rights Texas. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Association for Independent Living (“AFIL”) in Dallas, as well as the Dallas Society of Financial Service Professionals.  She is on the Advisory Council for My Possibilities.  She was recently appointed to the Advisory Council of My Possibilities.  She enjoys her volunteer legal work for the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and the Collin County office of Legal Aid of North West Texas.

Tresi is a lifelong learner through her memberships in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Probate Trust and Estates section of the Dallas Bar Association, the Dallas Estate Planning Council, Estate Planning Council of North Texas, Wealth Counsel, Elder Counsel, and the State Bar College.

Tresi is a frequent speaker on special needs trust for attorneys, advisors, educators and parents of children with special needs.  She is also a frequent speaker for women’s and church groups about basic estate planning and godly stewardship.  She lives with her husband Kevin, and they are active members of Watermark Community Church in Dallas.

Tresi is also the founder of Texas GPS, a Non-Profit Helping Families Navigate the Special Needs World.

Jennifer Finch

Chris Krupa Downs

With a personal mission of serving others who must navigate the challenging world of special needs legal issues, Christene (Chris) Krupa Downs is a member of Weeks Law Firm focusing on wills, advance directives, estate planning, probate, and guardianships. Chris has been recognized as a “Super Lawyers’ Rising Star in Texas,” in 2016, 2017 and 2018 for her practice in estate planning and probate.

Prior to joining Weeks Law Firm, Chris served as an attorney at Krupa Downs Law, PLLC where she rose in prominence as a sought-after author and guest speaker, frequently addressing audiences at the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, Collin County Bar Association, and the Texas Advanced Paralegal Seminar.

Additionally, Chris is very active in the North Texas community and currently serves as the Public Affairs Representative of the Junior League of Collin County. Previously, she served as the Executive Vice President on the board of the Junior League of Collin County, on the board of the Side Up Family Center—whose mission is to move families from surviving to thriving through parenting education and values-focused education for the entire family—as well as on the board of City House, where she served as treasurer.

Chris belongs to numerous professional associations, including the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Collin County Bar Association, The Dallas Bar Association, The State Bar of Texas, and the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. She currently serves on the State Bar of Texas’s Computer & Technology Section’s board.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from The University of Texas at Dallas, and a law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.

What to Expect from Weeks Law Firm

  • schedule Appointment

    Call or email us to schedule an appointment. Sherrie or Cathy will take down your information and setup an appointment, typically within 3-4 weeks.

  • QUESTIONNAIRE

    You will receive a basic questionnaire to fill out and return regarding your estate planning needs to help us prepare for your consultation.

  • Consultation

    You will talk to Tresi for 1.5 hours to discuss your current family and financial situation, your goals and your questions. Tresi will design a plan to meet your needs and recommend estate planning options. She will quote you a flat fee for the services.

  • HIRE WEEKS LAW FIRM

    If you decide to hire our firm, great! We'll schedule your signing appointment at our office in 2-3 weeks. You'll receive drafts of your documents to review with any follow-up questions in 1-2 weeks.

  • REVIEW & SIGN DOCUMENTS

    Before you formally sign your documents, we will go over everything with you and answer any questions. You'll leave our office with the originals and a flash drive with PDF copies of your documents.
